Scotlands Park Bowls Club play in the Coalville and District Triples league and also the over 60's Triples league.

A Triple is a team of three players whose position in order of play are lead, second and skip.

The Skip is in charge of the team.

A match consists of three teams playing three opposing teams.

Scotlands Park Bowls Club is open for the 2024 season and welcomes members and non members alike to come down on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 18:00hrs for a roll up. So come and give lawn bowls a go and have a laugh at the same time with our friendly and social club members. Advice freely given.

A warm welcome was given to the congregation of Coalville's Methodist Church on Monday 1st of July. From novices upwards, all enjoyed a chance to bowl at Scotlands Park. Followed by a buffet and raffle. An enjoyable evening was had by all and we look forward to seeing you again in the not too distant future.

The World Indoor Bowls Championship competition is being played at Potters resort, Hopton from Friday 5th January 2024 to Sunday 21st January 2024. Details are on worldbowlstour.org. Click the youtube icon in the top right corner to view the matches.

Scotlands Park Bowls Club held a Quiz night on Friday 1st December and a great evening it was too. Many thanks to Roger for compiling all the questions and also the funny raffle that everybody won. Food was supplied by Dave and Nicky and funds were raised for the club. Thanks to everyone that turned out on a frosty evening to make it a fun night.

Coalville and District Triples League held their AGM on Sunday 19th November 2023. Scotlands Park were represented by Chairman David Larkin and his wife Nichola where they were presented with a pennant for runners up in division 3 and gaining promotion to division 2 for the 2024 season. Scotlands Park were also awarded £60 in prize money. Well done to everyone involved.

The Coalville and District over 60's league AGM will take place on Thursday 9th November at Measham Leisure Centre. Graham, and Pete will be attending so if anyone that wants a legitimate issue raised please make it known to one of them by the 24th October. Any items raised must be on the AGM agenda.

THIS YEARS GALA WAS CANCELLED DUE TO WET WEATHER AND WILL NOT BE RE-SCHEDULED.

 

Coalville Gala will be held on Tuesday 26th September 2023 at Coalville Bowls Club. Start time is 11:00am so all teams should arrive between 10:30am and 10:45am for registration. Entry fee is £5.00 per person (£15.00 per team) this includes tea and biscuits after 12 ends.

After registration there will be a spider, the winner receiving a bottle of Whiskey.

Each rink will play 24 ends of triples (6 ends against each of 4 teams).

After trophies and prize money have been presented there will be a raffle.

Bowls England have announced that all 18 days of the Aviva National finals (10th August to 27th August) will be streamed online and will be available for everyone to view free of charge. Over 40 matches will be available to watch. More details can be seen at www.bowlsengland.com.

County 2 wood triples match has been organised for Wednesday 19th July at Scotlands Park. Our team is Pete, Steve and Graham playing a team from Countesthorpe. Match starts at 6:00pm (18:00hrs).

Congratulations to Scotlands Park for a strong performance in 2023 finishing 2nd in Division 3 and gaining promotion to Division 2 of the Coalville and District Triples league for the 2024 season. This has been achieved in only the second full season since the club has re opened.
